this is one of the best things i’ve seen on tumblr :)
Amazing. I am in love with that guy. And that ducky smile. Seriously, I love people who value all kinds of animals enough to give them a chance to waddle around.
Shooter the Elk Rescues Marmot from Drowning.

Sea Otter Nellie Stacks Cups
Submitted by gujacq!
NUH UH. NO WAY. I am pretty sure I have never seen anything this cute in my entire life. Especially when she has the two stacked and the lady gives her the red one and she figures out she has to unstack them to fit it in. OMG and then the end with the head snuggle. OMG OMG OMG. Too much……I don’t know how to go through this life with no hope of ever having an otter friend.
Harvey used to be a fighting dog. His ears torn from battles he was forced into. He flinches when you talk too loud around him. He gets so excited when you prepare his food, as in disbelief that he’s actually going to eat this many days in a row and when you put the food down he kisses you in gratitude. He’s afraid of thunder, soda cans, the TV and when baby Nick Fury meows when he’s hungry. When we first picked up Harvey from the pound half of his face was missing and he was severely underweight. Now he’s a kitten baby sitter. FIGHT BSL IN YOUR COUNTY.
oh my sweet lord
This is a pit bull. A pit bull actually rescued from fighting (not assumed to be) who had severe injuries and fears. Now he eats with the tiniest kitten. Lovely.
Heartwarming Tearjerker of the Day: Staff Sergeant Nick B. was on patrol in Afghanistan when he came across Bodhi tied up, covered in mud, and missing both ears and half his tail to some kind of torture.
“They were going to use him to fight other dogs as entertainment,” Nick said. “You could just tell he hadn’t been fed properly. He was really skinny and malnourished. When I saw that, it just broke my heart. I knew I had to get this dog out of here.”
Nick says the owners didn’t want to give Bodhi up, so he traded packs of cigarettes for him. Then he coordinated with the Puppy Rescue Mission to get Bodhi out of the country. The pair were reunited in Florida on Saturday.
“It’s so much better knowing I saved this dog from a life of eating scraps of trash and not knowing if he’s going to be shot,” Nick said. “I know his life will be so much better now. He’ll have a lot of land to run around on, a pool to play in, a loving family, and he’ll be fed properly and bathed. It’s an amazing feeling.”
This is awesome. Dude is hot. Not sure if he really is or because of what he did and how he tells the story is amazing. Also- CUTE Puppy! He can hear again.
Did you know that giant Pacific octopuses get “attached” to their aquarists—in a good way? These intelligent animals recognize our staff and may even embrace them after a long absence.
An octopus hug.

Invertebrate hug for isopod.
I miss my marine invertebrates.
(They do give great hugs.)
This is so amazing. I would probably not love it at first, but would never turn down an octopus hug. More evidence that more beings, ones we don’t understand, are sentient. Don’t eat them. Don’t kill them.
People like this remind me to never stop trying. And to stop complaining or just shut up in general, because we are all capable of doing amazing things, even in the face of overwhelming adversity, if we just keep trying.
