This is how I get ready for work. Working at 8 instead of 7 this morning, so we were out before 6 to traverse the city. I stay on the main roads at that time. Went all the way down 22nd turned right on Market and was like, wow, there are people here. Then I realized. THEY WERE COMING OUT OF THE XXX PLACE EWWWWWWWW!!!!! I was so grossed out. But no fear with my trusty pit bull. (who would probably lick those disgusting AM scumbags). By now, we’ve walked for over an hour, modified workout since I threw my fucking back all the way out, everyone is fed, they are back to sleep and I am off to Egypt. It’s crazy what is happening there, but so fascinating watching a revolution. With hackers. Amazing that hackers are actually playing a real part in the overthrow of a world power. So crazy. Hope at least some of you are taking it easy today.
This is pretty much my favorite news story in a long time. (except for Sasha- RIP good girl!)
I have to read a lot of news when I am doing the editing thing. Like- all of it. I swear, I know ALL the news. It’s not because I am so brilliant (this time). It’s because I am new and I am still pretty nervous, so I feel like to not seem new, I have to know everything that is going on so I can find something at a moment’s notice. A few months ago, I didn’t even know where CNN was on my directv, now I have it on all the time. BTW, worst ads EVER.
Long story short, this story is so perfect. This nice soldier loves the dogs, they save his life, he comes home and saves theirs. Everyone works together, puppies are super cute. Seriously, they saved his unit from a suicide bomber! The only thing that bothered me was when he was worried about coming home and leaving them there. Not because it’s a hard out there for a dog, but because he was worried about the next unit coming it to those barracks. Ever since that video of those marines killing those little ones, and now new charges for another marine killing kittens. It scares me the mentality of some of these guys. Then it scares me that it’s hard to tell if we caused that, by sending these kids to these crazy vague war zones where no one really knows what we are fighting for, or whether that is who we are sending. You know, how in every war movie, there is some sick mother who just kills everyone and everything and always does really horrible things to that one village? So, I love this story, but that one little part gave me a lot of pause obviously.
And it brings me back to that dude on Big Brother, Lane. Guy talked about how he liked those hunting spotlight nights where all the guys went out and just killed anything they spotted. Disturbing. But I think when you are in that house and all you have to do is talk and eat and sleep, you tell stories that might not mean anything but you are just rambling on and have nothing left but that story. Then the chenbot asks him live what he misses from home? Yep- killing random living things. He sounds like a real sadistic fuck. Like that one guy in every war movie, who just kills everyone and everything. Whew. Knew that had to be going somewhere.
Happy weekend! I wish every soldier would save a Rufus or two, because that would make my extreme news reading a whole lot sweeter. And I bet it would help with the whole PTSD thing. (I think that new Valderrama movie looks good- who ever would have thought that would be a sentence??!!)
