A public service announcement about pit bulls from the Humane Society of Hamilton County. It features a fire chief, a police lieutenant, a pediatrician at Riley Children’s Hospital, a Lutheran minister, and Chris Denari (voice of the Indiana Pacers).
I’m sorry, but the temptation to reblog this picture every time I see it is just too great.
Way too tempting. The white one is a Trixie-type dope, licking on anyone who will take it …. BTW, Trixie is totally undaunted by the heat. I took off (from running) Friday because of the crazy heat. All day I had nothing but muscle aches and stiffness. And one nutjob of a pittie gal hounding me and Rocky to play all day, even when I was sweating in the blasting AC and felt miserable and stuffy with raging pms, she wanted to play. Yesterday, we ran and both felt much better all day. I just let her stop whenever she wanted and get up and go if she felt like it. It just works best for us. Except for the sleeping, I have been getting up so early to get everyone out before it gets too unbearable, that I am totally beat. She was totally in this mode this AM.
She isn’t really laying still like that, she is rolling from side to side, pause like this, then roll again. I wasn’t dragging her limp body with me, I swear!
I’ve never been one for celebrity or lady crushes, but I LOVE this girl
I have always loved Brooke Davis and thought Sophia Bush (@SophiaBush) seemed like a really classy and cool chick. Then came Twitter and the Gulf Oil spill, my dog Trixie, stress about the environment and my need to educate about pit bulls and treating dogs as individuals. And suddenly I was so in love with the person/actress as well. Not like sexy girl love, but wanting-her-in-my-BFF-circle love. Who am I kidding? I want her as my best besty of all besties.
She is one of those actress/celebrity people who does absolutely everything to use her fame to better the world. People, animals, the environment, she is so on it, while looking amazing. Also- we hear all the time about celebs taking their dogs everywhere with them and it always turns out to be a mini-doodle or a shit zhu (I know) or a chihuahua, yorkie, pom, etc. This girl? Nope. She takes her one-eyed pit bull rescued from New Orleans to all of her sets, all of the time. Check this out in the airport. It’s the kind of love and affection few of those people carrying their little dogs (or the dogs themselves) ever display.
Here she is with Patch:
She always looks so good. I would wear that and get like tomatoes thrown at me or something.
She responds to nearly everyone (and their mother) on Twitter too. Like real person answers with thought and meaning. Now? Now, she has gone and done a Funny or Die Video about Mob Wives with Drea De Matteo. It is true to the show (not that I watch! you know I do) and hilarious.
Dogs (pits and mastiffs!), sense of humor, generous, charitable, thoughtful and beautiful. Anyone who doesn’t love her is just so wrong. Plus she surfs! And is Brooke Davis, one of the best characters ever! Such a well rounded gal (pal- in my head). It’s out of character for me to love and believe a celebrity is actually doing good. But it’s more like, with her, she is a great person who does good stuff and works as an actress and happens to get her pretty picture taken.
Here she is last month, looking lovely for an event…
This video will make you love Sloths & brighten your day.
So I am all, great, this again. The baby sloths eating the beans and looking all cute and sleepy like the baby sloths do. It’s probably the same one, like from 2010. I am so going to watch it and it is the same old video, going around again. But AWWWWWWW, it’s NOT!!! It’s more sloth babies being cute AGAIN! They do eat the beans, just like those silly little guys always do. I know because I already LOVE them. You know, since that last sloth video I super loved too. Aw, man, thanks guys. Thanks for the new baby orphan sloth video. It’s awesome. I hope another one comes soon.
Pretty sure this is exactly what I needed. Second to the quaalude I am missing. Bad day, lost a lot of this month’s time in a new productivity scale. F-me for sure, so much to do before Sunday night. It’s no holiday where my employer is HQ’d. Shit. What was I talking about? Oh- this picture. I LOVE it times a million. Dudes. Those are the tiniest bunnies, adopted by the grey muzzle older lady dog. Seriously, it’;s much better than the video I just saw of a dog watching its owners leave the shelter- a middle aged dog they had had since a puppy, now lost and confused and heartbroken, so very sad. People never think about how their dog is feeling, how long they look for their owners every time the door opens or their name is said, every time a box of treats is rattled, as they wait to go back home or at least outside to the bathroom. Which never happens, as the selfish people move on with their lives as if their dog moved happily to a new home with a big yard and a family with plenty of time and money. Ugh. So, bunnies it is. And an old golden who fell in love with them and holds them safely under her arm (I know, front leg).
I miss these guys. Not the second season, because it was kind of off because the first used all of the songs they had been doing for years. But I miss their silly banter and ridiculously stupid attempts at success. Like Bret’s Footloose dance or their rapping names. Rhymenocerous anyone? And of course Murray Hewitt. Because he’s the real dickhead. Will we ever know what kind of rapping name Steve is? RELATED: What happened to Dave after Too Many Dicks on the Dancefloor?

This song is always kickass, always right, always setting me straight. Thin Layer, the Honorary Title, my heroes.
Just beautiful. I love horses. I miss being around horses. Alot. I love the power, the grace, the stubborn getting-to-know-them period, full of apples and carrots. Then how amazingly they show dignified affection when you’ve won their trust and love. Never much of a rider, I’m not comfortable with the forcefulness and I came to it so late in life. Plus, I have no balance to speak of. I just like being around horses. Walking them to pasture with a pretty head harness (not good with bits, physically or psychologically) and leash, when they are so excited to go out. How gently they interact with kids and other animals. It took a little bit for me to relax and trust them, city girl that I am. But it’s the best kind of outside with the smell of straw and hay. And it’s the kind of hard work that gives you the most deserved hungry, dirty and tired I have ever been. Their eyes are so kind and expressive. I miss being around horses. And one mini donkey in particular too. Head butts for love benny!
